| 09-04-08 ..... There is less than two months to go until the BIG race. Everything is shaping up to be the best race ever. We have some great new sponsors and the sponsors that have been with us the last few years are back with lots of great stuff. We are going to dedicate the Thunderboat trophies this year to Roger Newton. He is the class sponsor and we are going to memorialize him with this class. We are also going to fly his son David down to give out the awards. We have also designed a special T-shirt to memorialize Roger that we will be selling at the race and all of the proceeds will be going to the THUNDERBOAT MUSEUM in Roger's name. This shirt is going to be separate from the race shirts, so I think everyone will want one. They will run $19.95 and you will be able to get one at the race or order one and get it the week after the race. |
| 04-09-08 ... Well, it only took three and half weeks this year to sell out and go way over what we wanted to cut entries off. We are at 375 boats. I find it very hard to say "NO" to people. We have reached 62 entries for the Thunderboat Class! This had me scrambling for a way to get all of the classes run in a timely manner and still make time for every one to see LAS VEGAS. I received an idea from one of our District 19 Thunderboat racers. John Delong, one of the original founders of this class suggested we run the Thunderboats all three days of the event. So it looks like we will start by running one round on Friday, two rounds under the lights Saturday evening and the fourth round, consolation rounds and the Winner Take All Final on Sunday. We have several racers coming in this year that are just racing the Classic Thunderboat class. This will give them something do everyday of the event. Please E-mail me and let me know what you think of this idea. |

| 03-06-08 ... Well, It only took one month this year. We are over the 300 entry mark and all of the classes are very full. We won't be taking anymore entries except for the Classic Thunderboat class. We have 53 boats entered in that class and if you have one of those boats or will have one by October that you want to race please let me know. I am cutting off entries for that class at the end August. I will give the people that have entered by computer until Monday March 18, 2008 to get their entry forms sent in with payment. Starting today; if you give me your entry I will put you on a waiting list and if there are any cancellations or if someone doesn't get their official entry in on time we can get you in. I am sorry if there are any people that wanted to come that didn't get a spot this year. We will be back even bigger and better next year. I will have the entry form on line the first of February 2009. |
| 03-04-08 .... I am very excited about this race. We have a great list of racers signed up so far. There are champions from all over coming in for this one. We have hit 50 Classic Thunderboats. WOW! The boat total as of today is 273. Only a few spots are left. When we do fill up, I will start a backup list just in case we have any cancellations. The rooms at the host hotel are filling up fast also so get those reservations made. |

We want to put on a great event with 300 boats rather than go for a record number of entries and host an event that runs into the social plans. So get those paid entries in ASAP. |
